Rabbi Moshe Schwerd
Rabbi Moshe Schwerd recently retired as Senior Tax Counsel from Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. In addition to Smicha, he holds a Chaver Degree from the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary.
Rabbi Schwerd teaches one of the most well attended Daf HaYomi shiurim in Queens. He has taught the Daf HaYomi at the Beis Medrash of Kew Gardens Hills and Congregation Ahavas Yisrael since 1987, using the Mekoros L’havana and V’iyun.
Rabbi Schwerd has published extensively on a wide array of halacha and hashkafa topics in scholarly Torah journals. He has authored three seforim: Az Yashir- Yerach HaAysanim (on Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur and Succos), Az Yashir- Mattan Torah (on Shavous and Mattan Torah) and Az Yashir- Bain HaMitzarim.
